Located at Herengracht 368 in a beautiful 17th-century canal house, the Art Zoo Museum visitors for an unprecedented experience. This museum, which opened its doors on June 26, 2025, is a creation of the Free Academy of Arts & Culture, which has been working for more than 35 years to make art and culture accessible to a wide audience.

The Wunderkammer Concept
The museum offers an artistic interpretation of classical Wunderkammer, or the "wonder room. This concept goes beyond a traditional museum by embracing visitors with impressive taxidermy installations realized by the internationally renowned artist duo Darwin, Sinke & Van Tongeren. Here you can admire colorful birds, writhing snakes, imposing crocodiles and even a T-Rex.
A Theatrical Experience
The artistic arrangement adds an almost theatrical dimension to the experience. Visitors can marvel at giant aviaries that present the various animal species in a dynamic environment. This makes the museum a unique destination for art lovers and nature lovers alike.
"The Art Zoo Museum is more than an exhibition; it is an experience that blurs the lines between art and nature."
